Wild rice burger for dinner anyone?

I’m going to detail my famous wild rice burger recipe for you to enjoy with your family. And when I say my recipe is famous…I mean my husband loves them. Matter of fact, he loves all of my cooking. You can take a look at my other recipes HERE!

Now this wild rice burger recipe takes some time and effort on your part depending on what kind of rice you cook, and what you’re putting into the rice patty. I normally make these when I get a craving and even still procrastinate until I plan on spending some time in the kitchen.

Below is my exact recipe, prep time and cook time.

Ingredients for Wild Rice Burger:

For the wild rice burger patties: makes 8

  • 2 cups of Lundberg Wild Blend Rice (gluten free)
  • 1 cup of bread crumbs
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of red onion
  • 1 small avocado
  • 1/2 of a jalapeno (more or less for spice)
  • 1 1/2 cup of hot habanero cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of salt (I use ghost pepper salt)
  • 1 tablespoon of pepper (I use garlic pepper)
  • 1/2 cup of shredded carrots
  • Avocado oil

Toppings:

  • Sesame seed hamburger buns
  • Mayo
  • Tomato
  • Lettuce (I don’t use lettuce, but the norm for most is to add lettuce)

Prep:

Time: 12 minutes (not including rice)

Lay all your ingredients out and begin cooking the rice first. Depending on what rice you choose cooking instructions may be different.

While the rice is cooking dice carrots, jalapeño and onions for wild rice burger patties. My trick is to buy shredded carrots so I don’t have to cut them, and I use kitchen scissors to cut up the rest of my veggies. Without the scissors you could add about 5-10 extra minutes on your prep time.

Once the rice is finished cooking let it cool and begin mixing all patty ingredients together in a large bowl.

Cooking Wild Rice Burgers:

Coat your skillet in avocado oil and turn your stove on medium heat.

Scoop out desired amount of mixture to make individual patties.

Place on the skillet and fry until both sides are brown. Repeat until all mix is cooked thoroughly.

Enjoy!

Eat them plain, or put them on a hamburger bun. Either way they taste AMAZING!
